- Pandit / Pandit Gorkha (Hindu Candidates): Candidates must possess a Shastri or Acharya degree in Sanskrit with Karam Kand as the main or core subject, OR a one-year diploma in Karam Kand.
- Granthi (Sikh Candidates): Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university in India and must have the ‘Gyani’ qualification in Punjabi.
- Padre (Christian Candidates): Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university in India. Additionally, they must be ordained as a priest by the appropriate ecclesiastical authority and be listed under the local Bishop.
- Maulvi (Shia) (Muslim Candidates): Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university in India and must hold qualifications such as Alim in Arabic or Adeeb-e-Mahir / Urdu Mahir in Urdu.
- RT Buddhist (Buddhist Candidates): Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university in India and should be ordained as a Monk or Buddhist Priest by the appropriate authority. The authority refers to the Head Priest of the monastery where the candidate was initiated. The Head Priest must hold a Geshe (PhD), Khanpa, Lopon, or Rabjam qualification with a valid certificate issued by the monastery.
